Currently, the Cambodia
Wildlife Sanctuary is ready to begin construction
of the "Observation" portion of
the Sanctuary. This land is being patrolled
day and night to prevent logging and poaching
which threatens to eliminate all of the
remaining jungles of Cambodia....as well
as the rest of the world. The Observation
Sanctuary will consist of approximately
5,000 of the 1,000,000 acres in the Kulen-Promtep
wildlife area.
Thus far, we have developed an international
team of sanctuary designers, veterinarians,
biologists, attorneys and other experts.
We have obtained the difficult Government
approvals, provided on-site patrols, GPS
mapped the area, developed an over-all design
for the major habitats in the Observation
area and are currently planning to physically
locate them on the ground. However, we have
much more to do.
We have progressed to this point entirely
privately. We have not wanted publicity
or expected to need outside funding. We
had hoped to secure one "loan"
as a business proposition, involving a combination
of tax benefits, interest payments and return
of initial principle investments. However,
as the project has developed and we rapidly
reached the point of construction of the
Observation area, candidly we have not focused
enough attention on securing the additional
funds needed.
Between the travel, expert, design, facilities
and other expenses, we cannot complete the
physical construction of the Observation
area. This is the key to both protection
of the animals which have been domesticated
and cannot return to the wild as well as
the eco-tourism which will fund all of our
future conservation efforts. Thus, the Observation
Sanctuary construction is critical to the
immediate care of the captive animals in
this region, but also to the financial success
of the entire project. We are now in the
process of physically laying out this portion
of the Sanctuary to facilitate the transfer
and protection of the abused and endangered
animals in this region and thereby provide
amazing eco-tourism opportunities. We can
complete this process for approximately
two million U.S. dollars more.
If you share our vision, we need your
help in many ways. First and foremost, if
you are willing and able to join us as a
founding benefactor, we urgently need your
support. All of our efforts and successes
to date have been the product of volunteered
efforts or funding from two committed individuals.
If you are willing to provide direct financial
support, it will allow us to directly and
immediately complete this critical first
step of our work. We simply cannot continue
to do it alone.
Sadly, if we fail to proceed in furtherance
of our contract (see the Project Agreement)
the Cambodian government could withdraw.
Without protection, the jungle would be
exposed to unrestricted logging and poaching.
Therefore, we intend to take all steps to
move forward and avoid that possibility.
In short, we are fully committed to completing
this important work.
If you are not able to provide direct
financial assistance, we would certainly
welcome any other form of support you are
able to provide. Currently, we are working
with both individuals and organizations
to share valuable studies, information and
resources, where appropriate. If you can
share either expertise, experience, contacts
critical to our goals or other valuable
assistance, we would be most grateful.
Unlike most charitable ventures, our concept
and significant progress has been focused
upon creating a self funding mechanism (through
humane eco-tourism) which will fully and
permanently support and protect this land
and the animals, thereby proving to other
governments that they too can save their
natural resources. While we had hoped to
be able to fund this project privately,
we now have no alternative but to rely upon
the hope and belief that many others will
share our passion and commitment to this
important work.
We urgently need and thank you for any
assistance you are willing and able to provide.
If you would like to discuss how you can
join in our efforts, please feel free to
call (818) 609 2323. Your interest and support
can help us make a difference in this world.
